Oven- Baked Chicken Tenders

1/2 cup | toasted wheat germ |
1/3 cup | old-fashioned rolled oats |
3 tablespoons | flax meal |
2 tablespoons | sesame seeds |
2 teaspoons | vegetable oil |
1/4 cup | flour |
1 large | egg |
1 tablespoon | water |
1 1/2 pounds | chicken tenders |
salt, (optional) | |
DIRECTIONS Preheat the oven to 350°F. Generously oil a rimmed baking sheet. In a food processor, pulse the wheat germ, oats, flax meal, sesame seeds, and oil until coarsely ground. Transfer to a shallow bowl. Place the flour in a shallow bowl. In another shallow bowl, lightly beat the egg with the water. Dredge the chicken in the flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip in the egg, allowing excess to drip off. Next dredge the chicken in the oat mixture, pressing to adhere. Place the chicken on the baking sheet.
