Roasted Yam Fries

    2 large  baking potatoes or small, sweet potatoes or yams
    2 tsp (10 mL)  olive or canola oil
      sea salt, to taste
      pepper, to taste
      optional spices, rosemary, basil or garlic powder

Preheat oven to 225 C (425 F). Prepare a baking sheet by lining with parchment paper.

Scrub potatoes and peel if necessary. Cut into skinny strips like french fries.

Place fries in a large bowl. Drizzle with oil and seasonings, if using, and toss to coat.

Spread fries on baking sheet and bake for about 25 minutes or until tender and golden brown. Turn at least once during baking.

Serve with a savoury yogurt-based dip for added protein and a well-balanced snack.
