    1 cup  crisco
    1 1/2 cups  sugar
    2  eggs
    2 3/4 cups  flour
    2 teaspoons  cream of tartar
    2 teaspoons  baking soda
    1 teaspoon  salt
      Sugar
      cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400*. Cream together shortening and sugar, then add eggs. Add soda, salt and cream of tartar. Slowly add flour. Chill dough for 2 hours. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.

Mix the sugar and cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on unpressed baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard. Remove immediately from baking sheet.
