Sugar crusted chocolate slice cookies

2 cups | flour |
3/4 cup | cocoa powder |
1 tsp. | cinnamon |
1/4 tsp. | baking powder |
1/4 tsp. | baking soda |
3/4 cup | butter room temp |
1 cup | brown sugar |
2 | eggs |
1 tsp. | vanilla |
1/4 cup | coarse sugar |
1. Stir flour with cocoa, cinnamon, baking powder and baking soda in a med bowl.
2. Beat butter with brown sugar on med-high until fluffy, 2to3 min. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture until just combined. Gather into a ball. Divide dough in half. Roll into a 10 inch log.
3. Lay 2 squares of wax paper on the counter. Spread 2 tbsp of coarse sugar on each piece of wax paper. Roll each log in sugar pressing gently so sugar sticks and covers log. Roll log in wax paper and twist ends. Chill until firm at least 1 hour.
4. Position racks in oven in thirds. Preheat oven to 350 line a baking sheet with parchment. Slice in 1/4 inch slices and arrange 1 inch apart.
5. Bake in oven switching racks half way through about 8-10 min.
6. Transfer to cool

Make ahead tip: freeze wrapped logs of dough in freezer bag up to a month. Thaw in fridge overnight before using
