    1lb  good quality pork sausages
    4 medium  to large potatoes
    4 - 6  fresh tomatoes
    1/4 lb  butter
1 level tbsp cornflour
    1 tsp  gravy browning
Optional 1/4 white cabbage
      Salt
      pepper

Add cornflour to casserole. Mix gravy browning with a couple tbsp of water and stir in to casserole. Add layer of sliced tomatoes, layer of the raw sausages then layer of rest of sliced tomatoes. Season. Add the butter in chunks. Add optional layer of shredded raw white cabbage. Cut potatoes into chunks and bring to boil. Drain and layer in casserole. Season. Put in slow (350F/180C) oven for minimum of 3 hours. Can be left for up to 5 hours by turning heat down.
