Long Grain and Wild Rice Mix

1 cup | long grain brown rice |
1/2 cup | wild rice |
1 T | dried parsley |
2 tsp | spike seasoning or 2 tsp all-purpose seasoning |
1 tsp | dried thyme |
1/2 tsp | salt |

1 cup | dried parsley |
1/3 cup | garlic powder |
2 T | salt |
2 T | sugar |
Use 1 tablespoon of the above mixture with 1/3 cup wild rice and 1/3 cup parboiled long grain rice
Bring 3 1/4 cups of water to boil in a medium saucepan. Add rice mix, cover and simmer for 50 minutes. Remove from heat and wait 10 minutes before fluffing with a fork. Use long grain white rice to reduce cooking time to 35-40 minutes. Wild rice takes quite a while to cook.
Alternate recipe requires only 1 2/3 cup water cooking for 25-30 minutes.
