Sandy's Sugar Cookies

| 1 1/2 cups | sugar, powdered, (sifted) |
| 1 cup | margarine |
| 1 | egg |
| 1 teasp. | vanilla |
| 1/2 teasp. | almond flavoring, (optional) |
| 2 1/2 cup | flour |
| 1tsp. | baking soda |
| 1 tsp. | cream of tartar |
Mix sugar and butter. add egg and flavoring. mix throughly. stir dry ingredients and blend in. refrigerate 2-3 hours. roll 1/2 to 8/16 inch thick.
Cut out shapes and place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 375 degrees for 7-8 min.
