Creamy Tomato Pasta Sauce

1 tbsp | olive oil |
1 small | onion, chopped |
1 clove | garlic, crushed |
410g can | tomatoes |
2 tbsp | dry red wine |
1 tbsp | chopped fresh basil |
1/2 tsp | sugar |
1/4 tsp | cracked black peppercorns |
Heat oil in pan, add onion and garlic, cook, stirring, until onion is soft. Stir in undrained crushed tomatoes, wine, basil, sugar and pepper, bring to a boil. (Blend or process mixture until smooth, return to pan.) Stir in cream, cook until heated through. Toss with cooked pasta and serve.
