Brown Beef in Beer

BROWN BEEF IN BEER 1 pound chuck cut in 2" x 1/2" pieces | |
2 tablespoons | butter |
1 can | beer |
1/2 teaspoon | basil |
1/2 teaspoon | salt |
1/8 teaspoon | pepper |
1 package | mushroom gravy mix |
Brown beef in butter in heavy sauce pan. Add beer, basil, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until meat is for tender. Stir in gravy mix and cook for 5 - 7 minutes.
Or, pressure cook for 45 minutes after browning meat.
