Asparagus

500 g | green asparagus |
1 tbsp | sugar |
1 tsp | aromat, or maggi seasoning liquid |
1/2 | bouillon cube |
10 g | butter |
Eat with: | |
4 tbsp | mayonnaise, or |
4 tbsp | hollandaise sauce |
Cut off the hard bottom part of the asparagus. Peel the bottom skin. Boil 2 liters of water, add the sugar, aromat, bouillon and butter. Bring to a boil. Add the asparagus. Leave until cooked. Transfer at once to cold water to conserve a brigth green color. This cooking water can be drinked and also makes a good base for a soup. To give more taste, the bottom parts of the asparagus can be cooked in it, then disposed. To make a soup, add: | |
