Nana carlings boiled fruit cake

| 1 1/2 cups | mixed fruit |
| 1 cup | sugar |
| 1 cup | water |
| 125 grams | butter |
| 1 heaped teaspoon | mixed spice |
| 1 teaspoon | bi-carb soda |
| 2 | eggs |
| 2 cups | self raising flour |
Bring to boil fruit,sugar,butter and water
When boiled stir in bi-carb soda then let mixture cool
Add eggs, flour and spice and stir with a wooden spoon
Prepare cake tin by greasing well with brown paper on bottom and sides
Pour mixture into an 8" (20cm) high sided cake tin
Cook for 1hour at 180cel
