Sweet And Sour BBQ Spare Ribs

Smoke with apple wood | |
2 racks | spare ribs |
Rub very lightly with the following mix | |
1 1/2 tablespoons | kosher salt |
1 tablespoons | pure chile powder |
2 tablespoons | light brown surgar |
1 tablespoons | granulated garlic |
1 tablespoons | paprika |
2 teaspoons | dried thyme |
2 teaspoons | ground cumin |
2 teaspoons | celery seed |
2 teaspoons | ground black pepper |
Mop sauce | |
1 cup | apple juice |
1/2 cup | cider vinegar |
2 tablespoons | worcestershire sauce |
BBQ Sauce | |
2 cups | ketchup |
1 cup | apple juice |
1/3 cup | cider vinegar |
2 tablespoons | Worcestershire sauce |
2 tablespoons | honey |
2 tablespoons | above rub |
Mix and cook medium heat for 5 min. Remove from heat.
Cook at 250 to 275 for 5 to 6 hours bast with mop sauce every 2 hours.
After the meat has shrunk back at least a 1/2 inch. In several places brush ribs with the BBQ sauce. Cook ribs 30 min. To an hour longer.
