Spicey Oven Fried Chicken " I added a few extra ingredients to this recipe I found and served this at an "Amish" meal our family did for the Pastor's and Elders of our church. " ⅓ cup oil ⅓ cup melted butter | |
½ cup | flour |
½ cup | Italian bread crumbs |
½ cup | corn meal |
1 ½ teaspoon | garlic powder |
1 ½ teaspoon | paprika |
1 teaspoon | salt |
1 teaspoon | pepper |
1 teaspoon | onion powder |
1 teaspoon | ground sage |
1 teaspoon | dry mustard |
½ teaspoon | celery salt |
4 pounds | chicken pieces or about 14 pieces |
1. Preheat oven to 375. Put oil and butter in shallow pan , melt it. Set aside.
2. In a large paper bag, combine flour, bread crumbs corn meal, and seasonings.
Roll chicken in the melted oil/butter. Drop in sack and shake to coat.
3. Place chicken in the pan skin side down. Bake 45 minutes, flip pieces and bake 10 min. longer or until top crust begins to bubble. May take longer.
Servings/Yield: 14 piecies
