Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two bread tins. Ingredients
    2 cups  sugar
    1/2 cup  shortening, (I use Crisco)
    2  eggs
    3  Mashed ripened bananas
    4 cups  white flour
    1/4 tsp.  salt
    1 tsp.  vanilla

Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs, bananas, flour, salt, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix well. Divide into the two greased and floured bread tins.

Bake approx. 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees until brown. Test with toothpick in center until it comes out clean. Remove from oven. Let cool for about 5 minutes and then turn bread out onto wire rack to cool completely before serving.
