Banana Bread

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two bread tins. Ingredients | |
2 cups | sugar |
1/2 cup | shortening, (I use Crisco) |
2 | eggs |
3 | Mashed ripened bananas |
4 cups | white flour |
1/4 tsp. | salt |
1 tsp. | vanilla |
Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs, bananas, flour, salt, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix well. Divide into the two greased and floured bread tins.
Bake approx. 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees until brown. Test with toothpick in center until it comes out clean. Remove from oven. Let cool for about 5 minutes and then turn bread out onto wire rack to cool completely before serving.
