Emilee's cream cheese cutout cookies

1/2 c | margarine |
butter, alternative | |
1 3-ounce pkg | cream cheese |
2 c | flour |
1 c | sugar |
1 | egg |
1/2 tsp | baking powder |
1/2 tsp | vanilla |
Beat butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium high for 30 seconds. Add about half of the flour, the egg, sugar, baking powder, and vinilla. Beat till thoroughly combined then add remaining flour. Cover; chill 1 hour or till easy to handle.
On lightly floured surface roll and cut the dough at about 1/8 of an inch. Place one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 375 oven for about 8 minutes or untill edges are lightly browned. Cool on wire rack. Makes about 60 cookies.
