Potatoes Au Gratin

2 tbsp | butter |
1 tbsp | flour |
1 tsp | salt |
1/4 tsp | pepper |
2 cups | half and half |
2 cups | shredded cheddar |
6 medium | potatoes, peeled and sliced |
Preheat oven to 350.
Melt butter in saucepan and stir in flour, cook until smooth and bubbly.
Remove from heat. Stir in half and half and heat slightly. Add cheese. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for one minute.
Place sliced potatoes in ungreased baking dish. Sprinkle some salt in each layer. Pour cheese sauce over potatoes.
Bake uncovered for 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours.
