Marinara Sauce

    1 32oz can  crushed tomatoes
    1 15oz can  diced tomatoes
    1 small  onion, minced
    2-3  garlic cloves, minced
    1 tbsp  olive oil
Goodpinch salt and pepper
    1 tsp  dried oregano
    1 small handful  frsh basil torn

In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat and add garlic and onion. Saute for a few mins until onion starts to soften and all becomes fragrant. Add both cans of tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Season with dried oregano, salt and pepper and stir. Let sauce simmer on low for about 20-25 mins. Taste for salt along the way and adjust. Add fresh basil towards end of cooking time.
