Baking Custard ( Grandma Israelsen)

1 cup | milk |
1 | egg |
1 1/2 Tb | sugar |
Dash | nutmeg |
Dash | salt |
Lemon or vanilla flavoring |
Scald milk in double boiler, then pour over the other ingredients. Pour into custard dish, put dish in a pan of hot water, and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. To test for doneness, cut eh custard with a knife. If custard clears knife, it is done.
