| 1/2 cup | milk, scalded |
| 2 heaping Tbsp | shortening |
| 2 heaping Tblsp | sugar |
| 1 | egg, beaten |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| 1 | yeast cake dissolved in water or milk |
| 4 cups | flour |
Stir with spoon. Let rise. When light, roll out with flour.
