| 1 lb | hamburger, (brown and add 1 large onion.) Add: |
| 4 | or more carrots |
| 3 cans | consumme or 2 boulillon cubes and 3 cans water |
| 2 cans | water |
| 1 qt | tomatoes |
| 1/2 tsp | thyme |
| 10 | peppercorns |
| 1 | bay leaf |
| 2 Tbsp | parsley |
After carrots are tender add 1 1/2 cup macaroni or noodles.
