Favorite Oatmeal Cookies (Grandam Israelsen)

| 1/2 cup | shortening |
| 1 cup | sugar |
| 2 | eggs,, (beaten) |
| 2 cups | oatmeal |
| 2 cups | flour |
| 3/4 tsp. | baking soda |
| 2 tsp | cinnamon |
| 1/4 tsp. | salt |
| 1/2 cup | milk |
| 1 tsp | vanilla |
| 1 cup | raisins |
| 1 cup | nuts,, (optional) |
mix all ingredients together, adding oatmeal, raisins, and nuts last. Drip by teaspoons full on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
