Lasagne A La Muriel

2 cloves | garlic, crushed |
1/4 teaspoon | pepper |
5 1/4 cups (three 14 1/2-ounce cans) | tomatoes, cut up |
1 cup (8oz can) | tomato sauce |
1 | envelope, ( 1 1/2ounces) spaghetti sauce mix |
8-ounces Skinner Lasagne uncooked | |
1/2 pound | mozzarella cheese |
1 cup (8-ounces) | ricotta |
cottage cheese, alternative | |
1/2 cup | grated Parmesan cheese |
Brown beef in 3-qt saucepan or dutch oven. Add seasoned salt, garlic and pepper. Cook slowly uncovered 10 minutes. Stir in tomatoes,, tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Meanwhile cook lasagne according to package directions; drain. (Seperate lasagne and lay out flat on wax paper or aluminum foil to keep the pieces sticking together as they cool.) Pour 2 cups of meat sauce on bottom of 13 x 9 x2 ch baking pan; arrange layer of lasagne over sauce. Top with slices of mozzarela and spoonfuls of cottage cheese or ricotta. Repeat layers of meat sauce, lasagne, mozzarella and ricotta. Top with layer lasagne and remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes or until hot and bubbly. 6 - 8 servings.
