Soft molasses cookies --MOM'S

| 1 c | shortening. 2 t ginger |
| 1 c | brown sugar. 1 t vanilla |
| 1 c | molasses. 1/4 t lemon flavoring |
| 1/4 c | warm water. 1/2 t salt |
| 1 beaten egg. 4 c flour | |
| 2 t | soda., (don't add any more flour) |
Mix in order given into a smooth dough. Let stand overnight or longer in
Refrigerator . Roll out & cut. Bake in 350 oven. Until browned lightly.
