1¾ cups | self rising flour |
pinch | salt |
3½ TBS | margarine |
butter, alternative | |
2 TBS | Sugar |
¼ cup | raisins |
1 egg beaten plus enough milk to make ½ cup liquid
Heat Oven to 425 degrees
Mix flour and salt and rub in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in sugar and fruit
Add egg and milk, reserving 1 tsp for brushing the tops.
Knead on a lightly floured surface and roll out to ½ inch thickness; cut into 2½ inch rounds
Reroll trimmings and cut more rounds to get 7 or 8 total.
Brush tops with reserved egg mixture and bake until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
Servings: 7-8
