1 lb. | ground beef |
1 or 2 lg. | onions, chopped |
2 cloves | garlic, minced |
1/2 C. | diced celery |
1 | green pepper, chopped |
2 Tbs. | oil |
1 28-oz. can | tomatoes or 2 lb. frozen |
2 5-oz. cans | tomato paste |
2 C. | raw diced potatoes |
2 C. | diced carrots |
4 C. | beef stock |
salt, to taste | |
pepper, to taste |
6 or 7 coarsely chopped cabbage
Directions
Saute first five ingredients in oil. Add remaining ingredients except cabbage. Simmer uncovered for 1 hour. Add cabbage and simmer for 1 more hour, adding more water if necessary up to 3 cups.
