Red Velvet Waffles via Food.com Ingredients | |
2 large | eggs |
2 cups | flour |
1 1/4 cups | sugar |
1/4 teaspoon | salt |
1 teaspoon | baking soda |
4 teaspoons | unsweetened cocoa powder |
1/4 cup | butter, melted, cooled |
2 cups | buttermilk |
1 teaspoon | vanilla |
2 tablespoons | red food coloring |
Directions Preheat waffle iron and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Separate eggs. Beat egg whites until stiff. Mix dry ingredients together, then add wet. Mix all ingredients together. 4 ounces | unsalted butter, softened |
4 ounces | cream cheese, softened |
2 cups | powdered sugar |
1 teaspoon | vanilla extract |
Directions
In a large bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer. With the mixer on low speed, add the powdered sugar a cup at a time until smooth and creamy. Beat in the vanilla extract.
Serve frosting on the side to dip into, or spread over waffles. For ultimate authenticity, sprinkle chopped pecans on your frosted waffles. Happy Valentine's Breakfast!
