Chicken A La King

1/3 cup | butter or margarine |
2 tablespoons | green pepper, finely chopped |
1/3 cup | flour |
1 teaspoon | salt |
1/8 teaspoon | pepper |
1 1/4 cups | chicken broth |
3 cups | chicken, cooked, diced |
1 1/4 cups | milk or half'n half |
1 (4 ounce) jar | sliced pimento, well drained |
1 (4 ounce) can | sliced mushrooms, drained |
Set Power Select at HIGH. In 3-quart casserole dish, heat butter and green pepper 3 to 4 minutes or until green pepper is tender; stir in flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add broth and milk, stirring until smooth. Heat 2 to 3 minutes at on high.
On medium power, heat 4 to 5 minutes or until sauce is thickened, stirring twice. Add remaining ingredients. Heat 7 to 8 minutes or until heated through, stirring twice. Server over toast, noodles or rice.
