Peach -a-Berry Cobler

Filling | |
1½ tablespoons | cornstarch |
1/2 cup | brown sugar |
¾ cup | water |
4 cups | mixed fruit, such as peaches, blueberries, raspberries, etc. |
1½ tablespoons | butter |
1½ tablespoons | lemon juice |
Crust | |
1½ cups | flour |
¾ cup | sugar |
2¼ teaspoons | baking powder |
½ teaspoon | salt |
¾ cup | milk |
¾ cup | butter, softened |
Topping | |
2 tablespoons | sugar |
½ teaspoon | fresh grated nutmeg |
whipped cream or ice cream, (optional) |
Filling: Mix together cornstarch, sugar, and water in a skillet. Add mixed fruit. Cook and stir until thickened. Add butter and lemon juice.
Crust: Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and butter; beat until blended well.
To assemble: Pour hot fruit mixture in ovenproof glass pan (9x13-inch) Spread batter on hot fruit. Mix together sugar and nutmeg; sprinkle mixture over batter.
Bake at 350?F until lightly browned.
Serve with whipped cream, ice cream, or as is.
