Sauerkraut and Sausage (Kapusta)

1.5 lbs | fresh polish kielbasa |
1.5 lbs | smoked polish kielbasa |
1 sm | head cabbage, shredded |
2 | onions chopped |
1 jar | sauerkraut, drain and save juice |
1 can | mushrooms |
1.5 tsp | caraway seeds |
1/4 cup | water |
Fry onions in oil.
Pour water over shredded cabbage and let set about 10 min.
Rinse sauerkraut, save juice.
Drain water from cabbage, place all ingredients in pan with 1/4 cup water, mix well.
Add sauerkraut juice to taste. Simmer about 1 hr until cabbage is cooked.
May bake in 13 by 9 pan for additional 1/2 hr.
