1 stick | undated butter cut into 1, 2" pieces at room temp |
1/2 cup | water |
1/4 cup | sugar |
1/4 tsp. | salt |
1 cup | all purpose flour |
3 | eggs |
1 | egg yolk |
2 tsp. | lemon zest, (from 1 lemon) |
Vegetable oil for frying
Melt butter in medium saucepan, stir in water, sugar and salt.
Place mixture in pastry mixture, slowly add in flour, then eggs, yolk and zest.
Scoop dough using a melon baller into hot oil, fry until golden in color.
Use recipe for a simple glaze to top them or make a chocolate glaze or you favorite to top them off.
