Amaretto bread pudding

Amaretto Bread Pudding | |
1 quart | 1/2 & 1/2 cream |
2 tablespoons butter @ room temp. | |
2 | eggs |
1 1/2 cups | sugar |
2 tablespoons | Almond extract |
3/4 cup | sliced almonds |
3/4 cup | white raisins |
Place rack in middle of oven, pre heat to 325 F. Grease 13" X 9" baking dish with butter Combine bread and 1/2 & 1/2 in very large bowl. Cover and let stand @ room temp for 1 hour. Gently stir. In small bowl whisk sugar, eggs and almond extract. Stir gently into bread mixture. Fold in raisins and almonds. Bake until firm about 50 min. Slightly Cool. Amaretto Sauce: | |
1 cup | powder sugar |
1/2 cup | butter |
1/4 cup | amerretto |
Stir sugar and butter over double boiler until sugar dissolves and mixture is hot. Remove from heat and let cool. Stir ameretto in when cool.
Spoon sauce over pudding or you can broil it until it bubbles.
( I spoon it over individual pieces.)
