Hash Brown Casserole

1 32-ounce package | frozen hash brown potatoes |
1 teaspoon | salt |
1 10¾-ounce can | cream of chicken soup |
1 cup | cheddar cheese, shredded |
½ cup | butter, melted |
2 8-ounce cartons | sour cream |
1 cup | cracker crumbs |
Cook onion in ½ cup butter over medium flame until transparent. Combine onion, salt, soup, sour cream and cheese in large bowl. Stir well. Turn into greased 2½-quart casserole dish. Combine ½ cup melted butter and cracker crumbs. Sprinkle over potato mixture.
Bake in 350? oven for 50 minutes. Makes 10 to 12 servings.
