Mocha Toffee Bars

1 cup | butter |
1 cup | brown sugar |
1 | egg yolk |
1 1/2 teaspoon | vanilla |
5 tablespoons | instant coffee mixed in 2 tablespoons boiling water |
2 cup | flour |
1/2 teaspoon | salt |
8 oz | chocolate chips |
Beat butter and brown sugar until pale and fluffy. Beat in yolk and vanilla. Gradually add coffee mixture. Add flour and salt; mix until just combined. Spread evenly in an ungreased 15x10x1" pan. Bake at 400 in middle until top puffs slightly and sides pull away from edge of pan. 16-22 mins. Spread melted chocolate over warm base. Cut, then cool until chocolate is firm.
