Gary's Tomato sauce with Sausage

1 clove | garlic, minced |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
1 tablespoon | olive oil |
½ pound | sausage, remove casing |
1 16-ounce can | diced tomatoes |
1 16-ounce can | tomato sauce |
8 ounces | water |
¼ teaspoon | pepper |
1 teaspoon | dried oregano |
1 teaspoon | dried basil |
1 tablespoon | dried parsley |
12 ounces | penne pasta |
Romano cheese, grated |
Sauté onions and garlic in oil. Add sausage and break into small pieces while browning. Add tomatoes, spices and water. Simmer for 40 minutes while preparing pasta. Add some sauce to pasta when done and serve with extra sauce on top. Top with grated Romano cheese.
