    ½ cup  butter or margarine, softened
    ¾ cup  sugar
    1 square  chocolate, melted and cooled
    1 teaspoon  vanilla
    2  eggs*
      whipped cream, (optional)

Cream butter and sugar well, blend in chocolate and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each for 5 minutes. Pour into 8-inch pie shell. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.

*Be sure to use, fresh, whole, shell eggs to insure against contamination.
