French Silk Pie

½ cup | butter or margarine, softened |
¾ cup | sugar |
1 square | chocolate, melted and cooled |
1 teaspoon | vanilla |
2 | eggs* |
whipped cream, (optional) |
Cream butter and sugar well, blend in chocolate and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each for 5 minutes. Pour into 8-inch pie shell. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.
*Be sure to use, fresh, whole, shell eggs to insure against contamination.
