Cranberry nut bread

2c | sifted flour |
1c | sugar |
1 1/2t | baking powder |
1t | salt |
1/2t | baking soda |
1/4c | shortening |
1t | grated orange peel |
3/4c | orange juice |
1 well beaten egg | |
1c | cranberries chopped, (measure before chopping) |
1/2c | chopped nuts |
Sift together dry ingredients-cut in shortening-
In blender: beat egg, add juice and cranberries, chop- add peel to liquid- add liquid to dry ingredients, mixing just to moisten-fold in nuts- turn into greased loaf pan-bake 350* -60 min. Cool. Wrap and store overnight. Then enjoy.
