Aunt Vera's Pineapple Squares

1-20oz. Can | Crushed Unsweetened Pineapple |
1 cup | Sugar |
3 TBS. | Flour |
In Saucepan cook until thick. Set aside and let cool. Crust: | |
1/4 cup | Butter |
Margarine, alternative | |
2 | Egg Yolks |
1/2 cup | Sugar |
1 tsp. | Vanilla |
1 1/2 cups | Flour |
1/2 tsp. | Baking Powder |
1/4 tsp. | Baking Soda |
In a bowl add all the ingredients with a pastry fork until it is combined and no crumbs left. Press dough onto a 9 x 13 pan add Pineapple mixture bake at 350* for 1/2 hr. In a mixing bowl beat Egg Whites until fluffy add 1 cup chopped Nuts. Add Egg White mixture to Pineapple and continue to bake until Egg Whites are Golden Brown. Let Cool! Enjoy!
