Ginger Snaps

1 cup | sugar |
2 cups | all-purpose flour |
1/2 tsp | salt |
1 tsp | cinnamon |
1 tsp | ginger |
1/2 tsp | cloves |
Combine above and stir lightly | |
3/4 cup | shortening., cut in |
1/4 cup | molasses., add more to taste |
1 | egg, slightly beaten |
Slope dough in 1 inch balls or smaller. Roll balls in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 for 10 min. Remove from baking sheets immediately.
