Terri's Perfect Frosting

1 cup | butter |
1 cup | shortening |
2 lbs | confectioner sugar |
½ tsp | salt |
1-2 tsp | clear vanilla or flavoring of your choice |
6-8 oz | heavy whipping cream |
Cream butter and shortening until fluffy then add sugar. Then add salt, flavoring, whipping cream, blend on low until fully mixed and then beat on high until fluffy.
If you want your icing to be very white, substitute another cup of shortening in place of the butter. Use butter flavoring to make it butter cream icing.
For decorating purposes only use 6 oz whipping cream. Icing will be firmer.
For icing a cake, use 8 oz.
