GREAT AMERICAN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES | |
2 ¼ CUPS | FLOUR |
1 CUP | BUTTER, SOFTENED |
1 TSP | BAKING SODA |
¾ C | SUGAR |
½ TSP | SALT |
¾ | PACKED BROWN SUGAR |
1 TSP | VANILLA |
2 | EGGS |
2 C | SEMI SWEET CHOC CHIPS |
• Heat oven to 375?. In bowl stir together flour baking soda and salt. In large mixer bowl, beat better, sugars and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs: beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well.
• Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
• Bake 9-11 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookies sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
Variations:
Pan recipe: Spread batter into greased 15 ½ x 10 ½ x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Bake @ 375? for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely, cut into bars.
Skor/choc chip cookies: Use 1 cup finely chopped SKOR toffee bars and 1 cup semi sweet choc chips in place of the 2 cups of choc chips.
Ice Cream Sandwich: Press one small scoop of vanilla ice cream between two cookies.
