SAUERKRAUT BUNS (Doreen) | |
1 pkg or 1 Tb | instant yeast |
1/2 cup | warm water |
1 tsp | sugar |
1/2 tsp | salt |
1 cup | sour cream |
3 Tbsp | sugar |
3 | eggs beaten |
4cups | flour |
1/2 lb | lard |
Dissolve yeast in 1 tsp sugar and water. Let stand 10 min. Combine sour cream and eggs. Mix lard, salt, sugar and flour as for pie crust. Add sour cream mixture. Mix well. Cover bowl and refrigerate overnight. In morning roll out dough to 1/4" thick. Cut in circle about 1 1/2 in diameter. Place about 1/2 tsp filling in center. Fold in half and pinch edges. Bake 30 minutes 325°.
