Nana's Irish Bread

    6 cups  flour
    5 tsp  baking powder
    1 tsp  salt
    1/2 cup  sugar
    2 sticks  butter
    1 cup  to 1 quart milk, (use only enough to make dough sticky)
    1 1/2 cups  raisins

2 fistfulls Caraway seeds

Sift all dry ingredients together ... Crumble butter into dry ingredients.
Add enough milk slowly to mixture for the mixture to be sticky (about 1 cup)
Fold into dry ingredients (don't stir)
Add 1 1/2 cups raisins and caraway seeds
Put in a large (10 inch) cast iron fry pan
Shake sugar on top
Cut the sign of a cross on top of the dough

Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees
