Mom's Spaghetti Sauce

2 lbs | ground beef |
1 large | onion, chopped,, (yellow or vidalia) |
1 large | green pepper, chopped |
16 oz | white button mushrooms, sliced |
28 oz can | whole tomatoes, crushed |
15 oz can | tomato sauce |
12 oz can | tomato paste |
1 tbsp | garlic powder |
1/4 cup | worcestershire sauce |
1 cup | sugar |
1-2 tbsp | basil |
1-2 tbsp | oregano |
1 tbsp | marjoram,, (optional) |
1 tbsp | paprika |
1 tsp | salt |
1 tsp | black pepper |
1. Brown meat, veggies and all spices together on medium heat, covered, until tender.
2. Drain fat.
3. Puree all tomato ingredients, worcestershire, garlic powder and paprika.
4. Add tomato mix to the meat, then add the sugar.
5. Bring to a light boil then turn to medium-low and simmer. Cover and cook up to one hour, stirring occasionally. Season to taste.
