Marinated Asparagus

4 lbs. | fresh asparagus |
1 1/2 c. | olive oil |
2 Tb. | sugar |
1 c. | white balsamic vinegar |
8 | garlic cloves, minced |
2 tsp. | red pepper flakes |
Snap off tough ends of asparagus, and cook asparagus into boiling water to cover 3 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender; drain.
Plunge asparagus into ice water to stop the cooking process; drain. Arrange asparagus in two 13x9" baking dishes.
Whisk together olive oil, sugar, balsamic vinegar, garlic and red pepper flakes until well blended; pour over asparagus. Cover and chill 8 hours. Drain before placing on serving dish.
Serve with Chicken Italiano and Easy Italian Bread.
