Pasta with Peas and Bacon

1 lb | penne pasta |
2 TB | olive oil |
4 TB | butter |
1 large | chopped onion |
1/2 lb | bacon |
2 cups | fresh or frozen peas |
salt, to taste | |
pepper, to taste | |
1 1/4 cups | parmesan cheese |
Heat the oil and butter, add chopped onion. Cook 5 minutes, than add bacon cut into small pieces. When the bacon is almost done, add peas and season to taste. Cook pasta for 5 minutes less then package directs. Drain (reserve 4 Tb water) and add to sauce along with 4 TB pasta water. Warm thru and serve with grated parmesan cheese.
