Apple Tart

Ingredients Crust : | |
1/2 cup | butter |
1/3 cup | sugar |
1/2 teaspoon | vanilla extract |
1 cup | all-purpose flour |
Cream filling : | |
8 ounces | cream cheese, softened |
1/4 cup | sugar |
1 | egg |
1/2 teaspoon | vanilla extract |
Topping : 3 Grannysmith apples, peeled and sliced | |
1/2 teaspoon | cinnamon |
1/4 cup | sugar |
1/4 cup | slivered almonds |
1/4 cup | crushed pecans |
Prep
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
Tart pan
Crust :
1. Cream butter and sugar
2. Add vanilla
3. Add flour and mixed well (dough)
4. Pour into pan and press into place. Bake 15 minute, or until light golden brown
5. Remove tart shell from oven and cool
Cream filling :
1. Beat together cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth.
Topping :
1. Mix apple slices with cinnamon, sugar, and pecans
Assemble Tart :
1. Spread cream mixture inside tart crust prepared above
2. Arrange the apple slice mixture on top of cream mixture
3. Scatter almonds over apple topping
4. Bake until the apples are tender and golden in color aprox. 30-40 minutes.
Recommendations: serve warm with Vanila ice cream or cremé fresh
