      Onions, diced
    2 tbsp  butter
      Flour
    1 1/2 cups  milk
Layer:
      spuds
    sprinkle  diced onions
      Salt
      pepper

Repeat

White sauce: melt butter. Add flour to thicken add 1 1/2 cups milk. Mic, stir, mic, stir until thick

Pour over spuds. Bake uncovered for 1 hour. Cover with grated cheese melt and serve.
