Pasta Pancetta and Peas

16oz | whole wheat fettuccine |
8oz | pancetta diced |
1/2 | onion chopped |
10oz bag | frozen peas |
2 cloves | garlic, minced |
1/4 cup | grated parmesan cheese |

Bring Lg pot of water to boil w/salt. Add pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and save 1 cup pasta water.
Sauté pancetta in Lg sauce pan over med-high heat until golden crisp, about 6 mins. Transfer to paper towel lined plate. In same pan sauté onions until softened, 5 mins. Add peas and garlic, sauté for 3 mins. Stir in Parmesan, pasta and pancetta. Add some pasta water to moisten if needed. Toss to incorporate season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with lemon juice if desired.
