Yam and Apple Casserole

    6-8  yams, cooked and peeled
    6-8  apples, uncooked, peeled
Cut yams in 3/4 slices, and slice apples. Layer in casserole. Pour sauce over all. Sauce:
    1/2 C  butter
    4 tsp  cornstarch
    2 C  boiling water
    1 tsp  salt
    1 Tbl  lemon juice
    1 C  sugar

Dissolve sugar in boiling water. Melt butter and add corrstarch, add water to make thick paste. Add sugar water. Stir in salt and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat till thick and clear. Bake 1 hour at 350.
