1.5 tbsp | Coriander Seeds |
3/4 tbsp | Fenugreek Seeds |

3 tbsp | Oil |
3/4 tbsp | Mustard |
1/2 tbsp | Urad Dal |
1 tbsp | Chana Dal |
1 tsp | Fenugreek Seeds |
30 nos Red Chillies (Adjust to taste) | |
1 tbsp | Peanuts |
25 nos Curry Leaves | |
A pinch | Asafetida |
1 tsp | Turmeric Powder |
1.5 Cup | Tamarind Juice, (medium sized cup) |
1 Small Piece | Jaggery |
Instructions:
1. Dry roast ingredients-1 and grind it to a fine powder.
2. In a cooking vessel heat oil and crackle mustard seeds. Then add Urad Dal, Chana Dal, fenugreek seeds, red chillies (break them into pieces), peanuts, curry leaves, asafetida, turmeric and Jaggery. Sauté for a while.
3. When the dals and peanuts turn brown add tamarind juice and salt. Cook for a while. The mixture would start becoming thick. When the desired consistency is reached take off heat and cool it. Now mix the ground powder to it.
